Game Design Submissions

Got a game the whole world should play?

We're looking for games that stop strangers in their tracks, that go viral before they hit shelves, and that your mom can learn in five minutes. If that's you, let's talk.

Submit Your Game

Who We Are

We make games that bring people together

Very Special Games started on a sticky note during a lunch break and grew into something we never saw coming. We're a Memphis-based publisher who makes games that create genuine moments of fun and opportunities for shared experience and community.

We work with outside designers and we take that relationship seriously.

The Standard We Hold Ourselves To

  • We respond to every submission within two weeks
  • We give you a clear yes, no, or request for revision
  • If we meet in person, you'll get direct, honest feedback on the spot

What Are We Looking For?

We Want This

  • Family and party games both gamers and non-gamers can enjoy
  • Something Mondo's mom can learn in under 5 minutes
  • Light strategy games (Ticket to Ride is a good ceiling for complexity)
  • Kickstarter-ready light strategy games
  • Big moments, accessibility, and fun first
  • Virality potential for short-form video and TikTok Shop

Not Right Now

  • Themeless abstract strategy games (Chess, Checkers, Mah Jong)
  • Trading card games or expandable card games (Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon)
  • Strategy games more complex than Ticket to Ride or Catan
  • Voting party games (Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity)
  • "Classic" style card games (Rummy, Canasta)
  • Euro-style economic games (Agricola)
  • Games that heavily rely on drawing, performance, or improv skills (Pictionary, Charades)

How It Works: Online Submissions

Reach Out

Fill out the contact form below with your elevator pitch, sell sheet, and video. We review every submission.

Video Call

If we're interested, Mondo will reach out to schedule a call. You'll know after the call whether we want a formal submission.

Full Submission

If we want to see your game in more detail, we'll ask for a submission of all materials, so it can be formally evaluated within our system.

Decision

After receiving submission materials, we will either ask for a prototype so we can try the game, or we will inform you that we're passing with feedback as to why.

This part of the process will take no more than 3 weeks.
